Feel the bern!

February 2nd, 2016 at 04:39 am

Go bernie go! He's doing better than I thought he would in Iowa. Okay admittedly I'm very liberal and I like Bernie Sanders. I like Elizabeth Warren. I don't like Hillary Clinton and I certainly wouldn't vote for her because she's female. I don't know honestly if I can stomach voting for her even in the general election. Perhaps I'm on the extreme side of the party. Or maybe I'm just disgusted with politics in general.

Something this month got me wondering, especially now that Ted Cruz won Iowa and Donald Trump came in second. OMG. Ted Cruz I thought okay sure the guy knows how to be a politician and run a campaign. He's going to collect a lot of votes and is a solid contender. But until today I really wondered who the HELL would support Trump and what is the reason? Well he's got supporters and they are real. I was wondering if the polls were a bunch of crap (much like the polls saying Bernie had real support!)

Honestly I figured that Donald Trump was riding the wave of being a celebrity. Now I don't think so. Now I am starting to feel the Bern and believe there is a political revolution and revolt on our hands. I think that there are many liberals and conservatives who are disgusted by the system and want something different.

Much like any liberal supporting Bernie those supporting Trump don't want an establishment candidate and feel DC is corrupt. I am sort of getting excited at that prospect. Maybe there is some sort of change coming.

I'll be honest I couldn't vote for any of the Republican leading candidates, I could vote for Kasich if he were nominated. However I would be super excited to see something crazy like Bernie versus Trump or Cruz. I'd love to see the establishment politics tossed on it's backside and neither candidate have big money behind them owing everyone else. If it were one of those two against Bernie I'd like to see which way the US leans and I'd feel the average joe had spoken up so even if Trump or Cruz won I'd be okay.

Who do you support? Do you think they'll win? I am cheering as we speak for Bernie. I'd love him to give Hillary a tough race and WIN.

I love Bernie too! The way I see it, nobody can ever get anything done, so why not totally shake things up. I can't stomach Hillary either, but I'll have to bite the bullet if Bernie doesn't make it to the end. #FeelTheBern!

It's a bit hard because I read that Hillary's biggest supporters are women over 60. There was an article that boomer moms are facing off against generation x and millenial daughters over supporting Hillary. Breaking the glass ceiling. I'm all for glass ceiling cracks and equal pay and equal work. But I just don't like Hillary even if Bernie wasn't running I'm not thrilled with her.

I like Kasich too! I've been a democrat, an independent AND a republican. I'll vote for the right leader, not the correct party. Not a fan of Bernie. But I would NEVER vote for Hillary. She is VERY untrustworthy. She is not a candidate I would support even if she was my ONLY choice. You cannot have a person in the White House who doesn't respect security of the nation as TOP priority.

I'm more about fiscal responsibility and the government following holding up the constitution. Don't care about their religion. And I definitely don't need the government offer all sorts of entitlement programs. That is where the budget gets out of whack. Once the government starts spending it is very hard to turn it back around.

I admit I am a conservative. However, I am undecided. I am not a fan of Trump or Cruz. My party affiliation aside, I think Hillary is a liar. I agree with you that it is time for a political revolution. As for my own decision, I am researching so I can make an informed decision not skewed by the media. I respect anyone's vote, Democrat, Republican, or other, who has taken time to research and doesn't vote for someone solely because they are popular. I could deal with Bernie being president, but if Hillary wins, I am honestly considering moving out of the country.

It was very exciting to watch the race get so tight! NH should be fun if it turns out as expected. I'm a bit worried about the rest of the states because there aren't many polls out there; one of the few is South Carolina and Bernie is improving there, but still far far behind.

Kasich definitely seems like the most reasonable of the Republicans. I would have thought Christie a couple years ago, until that bridge scandal revealed how corrupt and unprofessional he is.

I am really not liking the conventional establishment policitians in both parties. I feel like they are bought and sold. Hillary is a liar and I don't like her. I'd rather cast a vote for an independent since I don't like any the anti-immigration stance and beliefs of the republicans. I can't stand the hatred coming right now from the Republican candidates, those values I can't support and I think that the attitude carried would hurt the US globally.

But that aside I think Marco Rubio an establishment candidate. I am curious what was on the credit card statements he's been hiding and if I were the establishment I'd start pulling his dirty laundry out now instead of later. He should get ahead of it. Plus he's very much about the money which I can't stand.

I'd heavily consider Micheal Bloomberg if he jumped in. I hope that the polls have no idea where Bernie really stand. I think they are underestimating his support in many states, plus the establishment wants Hillary. uggh.

I too, vote for the person that I like best. I never vote for the party. It has been so long ago that I registered (the 60's) that I can't even remember what party I registered with.
I don't like Hillary at all and I hope she doesn't win.

I am a Bernie supporter, too! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Elizabeth Warren. I will, however, vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. You can probably tell I am a Democrat. I am not going to comment on Cruz or Trump. The sad thing to me is that it seems that it's really lobbyists who have the most control over the political process.

I can't stand Trump, Cruz ... meh. Hillary ... meh. Bernie? I'm not sure yet.

I'm sick of the establishment candidates too! I think you nailed the reasons in your post - no more Clinton's or Bush's please! I tend to vote conservative but I like some of what Bernie says. If he wasn't such an open borders guy I might vote for him. The Donald doesn't seem Presidential but I like a lot of his ideas.

My husband actually likes the fact that Trump and Bernie are not using Super pacs. He said that's why he'd like either. He's disgusted by how bought and sold politicians are. That pretty much everyone else is in the rich's pocket.

I have to admit I was stumped reading Hillary won by a coin toss? Ugh. Bernie needs to give her the smackdown in NH and start rolling in the rest of the US. I just can't stomach more establishment with bush or clinton. I really wanted someone different. Maybe I'll get my wish. I also think that super pacs allow candidates to be bought and sold.
