Headache with consolidating funds

OMG I can't stand it. I am trying to refinance with Chase. I have to move money over to get the best rate. I also wanted to consolidate our accounts.  BUT turns out I can't move money around easily.  Why?  Because when I moved money last year to Merrill Lynch they got my name wrong.  I did not input it wrong so they obviously opened accounts not in the right name.  Sigh.  Can't move money electronically.  I am leaving Merrill Lynch because they have no branches.  I tried to deposit a 401k Rollover check and couldn't drop it at Bank of America.  I'm not sure why the hell there is no one working. I guess because of covid apparently people don't work in office.  Great.  No.

Why the hell have all these requirement to open accounts in office if you don't have bodies in office?  Why bother having branches?  I guess I'm frustrated with how difficult this all is.

    And hopefully you still have a decent window within the 60-days you are allotted for a rollover!

    it's an after tax contribution and Fidelity had to rewrite the checks so I assume it restarted the 60 days.

    How did they manage to open an account in the wrong name? And even if they did, it should have been fixed right away.

    As for BOA, I know only one of our local branches has been open throughout the pandemic. I don't know if any others have reopened yet. I rarely need to go into one but we did have a couple of things in the past 6 months that had to be done in person.

    Um well they thought my last night was my middle name since it's a "hyphen" last name. No way would i have typed in my last name as my middle name. So I am not X Y-Z but X Y. Z which doesn't match with Chase which I opened up online myself and properly typed in my name instead of someone writing my name down incorrectly.
