good news in 2018

2018 has been good so far. Today I deposited 2017 and 2018 IRA contributions for DH and I. $5500 each for each year for $22k in contributions to our Roth IRAs.

Second it's weird but we ended 2017 a bit short of $800k and now it's powered through. We are at $810k, I think the company match came through for DH's 401k at the beginning of the year for last. And now we just contributed $22k. I wonder if I should rethink our stretch goal?

I also wrote down all our investments and I'm going to clean things up this next month.

    Yeah, the rise in equities lately is crazier than it was before, which is saying something. Seems every few days my accounts are up another thousand.

    Don't become too complacent...we are overdue for correction. I believe my US domestic stock exposure is only about 30% right now, although I'm not sure that's going to help since lately, a stock downturn drags every other sector down with it.

    I've thought about that a lot PS. I've been debating investing what we have but decided to risk it all. I'm going to stay invested and plow through it.

    I am enjoying the extra money earned, but like PatientSaver said, bet we have a correction soon. But good that you went over the $800K, even if it was a few days later than you anticipated.
