my neighbors are jerks

Did I mention what's been going on? Remember the incidents earlier in the year about the bullying? The hitting and drawing on my DK1? The luck we had about switching classes. Anyway before the end of the year I turned in a request that they are not in class together. Nor my DK1 is any class with any neighbors.

So a reason we also looked at moving out of our rental was the neighbor situation. Anyway recently we got a note from saying "you suck DK1." We also were left weird rock piles on the door. Until the note we said nothing and then my DH went next door and explained to the parents the situation. We did not show this to DK1, we asked if DK did it and she said no.

The parents said they don't talk that way. They didn't let them out of the sight. The truth is I caught them this week leaving notes again at the door. I am not sure what to do now. By caught I mean I opened the door and the kids were standing in front of our house and ran.

So now what to do? Make situation worse and confront them? Or just realize my neighbors are assholes and that there is nothing to be said or done before they realize their kids are being jerks because they are allowing it? Is it wrong to feel like we should move? I hate feeling trapped in the house and constantly on the kids so nothing happens?

    Talk to the parents again. Tell them you caught the kids doing it this time. If they lie their way out of it again, install security cameras. Get the little brats on video. Then you have proof and you can tell them so and say if they need to deal with the situation or you will seek legal recourse.

    We are installing security cameras. We haven't had time and DH is out of town so we didn't do it after last weekends incident.

    Very sorry for your troubles! Poor DK1. Keep building up your kid's confidence and try to catch the little brats in the act. As for moving - you are looking at moving anyway aren't you? You should only move though when it's right for you, ie the right property comes available. Good luck.

    I don't blame you for wanting to move at all.

    You could record them on your phone, if you see them approaching your door, then open it while recording, and let the actions of the kids be seen for what it is.

    I had neighbors that would play on our lawn, I simply had to keep going out there to tell them to move to their own property. Eventually they got it. But it didn't like that I had to be the one to do it.

    I like all my neighbors except one family that's given me ogida for years. I would ditto the security camera and have the cell phone at the ready to record anything.

    That is horrible! Bullying! I would feel a lot more piece of mind with the cameras.
